The Owls women's basketball team fell to Norther Vermont University – Lyndon in their North Atlantic Conference match up. The 71-68 loss brings the Owls to 14-9 on the year and 7-5 in the NAC as the Hornets advance to 6-6 in the conference.
The teams battled in the first half as UMPI led early with a three points lead going into the second quarter, before Lyndon battled back to take a 33-29 lead as the teams heading into the locker rooms at halftime. The Hornets extended their lead in the third, shooting 50% from the field and scoring 20 points and holding the Owls to 15 points as they led by nine going into the final ten minutes. UMPI bounced back in the final minutes of the game to bring themselves all the way back to within five after Aleia Milano's fifth three of the night. Chantel Williams would score a lay up to bring them within three with just 40 seconds left. The Owls were able to create a turnover to give them a chance to tie the game. Both Milano and Emily Wheaten were able to get a clean look but unable to connect before time expired.
Milano led all scorers with 29 points, while Alexis Ireland finished the game with 12 points off 5-7 shooting, while adding nine rebounds to her stat line. Emily Wheaton finished the game with 11 points and six assists.
