After an embarrassing loss to Great Bay on Tuesday, the Mustangs regrouped and put forth one of their best defensive efforts all season to overtake Bryan Stratton College 64-51 at cozy Kirk Hall Thursday.

Playing all thirteen players, Coach Gonyea wanted to ensure all received the proper rest and didn't play long minutes.  The bench didn't disappoint.  "We went into the game with a different attitude Gonyea said, nobody liked the way we ended Tuesday and wanted redemption.   We played guys long minutes on Tuesday and it cost us.  We need more from our bench and got it today."

After a sluggish first half where the home team didn't shoot well, the defense picked up the slack, holding the visitors to 21 first half points.   The squad went to the locker room down 21-19.

The second half was all CM.  Wyatt Hathaway lit up the scoring column knocking down four three's enroute to a 24-point performance.  Big DeMarco Mckissic held the paint contesting shots and ended the contest with only 6 points but was a major factor on the defensive end. The Mustangs outscored the Bobcats 45-30 in the second half.

Along with Hathaway and Mckissic, Boston Caldwell hit for 10 points but more importantly, hauled down 8 rebounds.  Cam Pollock had 11 points and collected 7 rebounds.  Mpore Semuhoza came off the bench with his usual contribution of 6 points and 9 rebounds.

The win moves CM to a 12-4 record.
