UMPI geology professor Dr. Kevin McCartney has had a busy year, including his second Fulbright (to India—the first one was to Poland) and the publication of a major paper in the science journal Marine Micropaleontology. While in India, Dr. McCartney conducted research on silicoflagellates. He is pictured here with a new species he discovered, Corbisema tajmahalii, named for its general likeness to the Taj Mahal dome.
