26 coaches at institutions in Aroostook County earned $17,580 on average in 2022

Aroostook County’s 26 coaches earned an average salary of $17,580 in 2022, according to the U.S. Department of Education.

This is the second lowest average salary per county earned by coaches at Maine post-secondary schools during 2022.

Aroostook County is home to two post-secondary schools that paid coaches during 2022. Among them, University of Maine at Fort Kent stood out with the highest average coaching salary of $24,091.

Male coaches of men's teams received $13,712 on average in Aroostook County, while female coaches in charge of women's teams earned an average of $16,503.

Research from the Vanderbilt Owen Graduate School of Management found NCAA coaches are compensated like CEOs, with top coaches earning more than $1.5 million annually.
