Northern Maine Community College will host its annual job fair on Thursday, March 23, between 9:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m. in the College gymnasium.

Recognized as the region’s largest job fair, the annual event was canceled in 2020 and paused thereafter due to Covid-19 restrictions. This year, Cassie Ouellette, the College’s new career specialist, determined the timing was right for the event’s return.

“Businesses are eager to find employees, and historically this event has played a critical role locally connecting employers with employees,” Ouellette said. “There are lots of opportunities available. We’re trying to align The County’s workforce with positions where employees can thrive and earn a good living. This event is a great opportunity to make that happen.”

The job fair will provide an opportunity for the public to meet with employment representatives from approximately 70 businesses, organizations, and government entities from throughout The County and Maine, all under one roof.

“Employers were excited to hear that the event is back this year,” said Ouellette.  “We have some long-standing employers joining us, but we also have some new companies joining the fair that may be new to the area, or who have not participated in our past events.”

The NMCC Job Fair brings together a wide range of employers who are looking for skills from nurses, electricians, truck drivers, construction, heavy equipment operators, accountants, manager trainees, healthcare providers plus many more. There are jobs across all education levels, full and part-time, as well as internship opportunities. A full list of employers attending the event is available on NMCC’s Facebook page or the College website, although companies are still registering for the event.

There will be representatives from Northern Maine Community College to encourage attendees to continue their educational journey.

Ouellette says that job seekers should bring their professional resume and be prepared for informal interview questions. There will be designated NMCC classrooms nearby for employers to conduct interviews if the opportunity presents itself, and some employers have indicated an openness to on-the-spot hiring for the right candidates.

The Job Fair is open to everyone interested in applying for a job or those who want to become acquainted with the current labor market.

As of publication time, the following employers and organizations plan to attend:
