Last month we said goodbye to our 2021-2022 student cohort from Quinnipiac University Frank H. Netter MD School of Medicine. Our five students, Joey Malzbender, Lala Forrest, Mercedes Forster, Alex Smith, and Emilee Sirois, were all third year medical students who spent nine months learning beside NMMC's talented providers in clinical experiences designed to treat the whole patient and family across a continuum of care in a rural healthcare setting. Before the students departed, they honored their "teachers" - our providers/staff, and peers - with the following awards:
Faculty Excellence in Clinical Teaching Award, the “Golden Apple”: James Harris, MD 2021 - 2022
Excellence in Promotion of The Learning Environment and Student Wellness, the “Golden Skull”: Shahriar Anoushfar, DO 2021 - 2022
Commitment to Humanism in Patient Care: Stephanie Gillis, MD 2021 - 2022
Excellence in Clinical teaching During the COVID - 19 Pandemic: Silwana Sidorczuk, MD 2021 - 2022

Inter - Professional Teaching Award: Christina Theriault, WHNP, 2021 – 2022
