We are proud to announce that three Maine Game Wardens were promoted to Sergeant over the winter months. Please join us in congratulating Sergeant Adrian Marquis, Sergeant Josh Beal, and Sergeant Kyle Hladik! They exemplify leadership, professionalism, work ethic, compassion, and adaptability. Their commitment to protecting Maine’s natural resources is beyond measure.
Now a Game Warden Sergeant in Central Aroostook County, Marquis began his career as a Maine Game Warden in 2006 after getting his start in law enforcement as a dispatcher. In addition to his patrol duties in the Madawaska District, Sergeant Marquis is a Firearms Instructor on the Use of Force Team, and a lead instructor at the Advanced Warden School for the canoeing program.
Game Warden Sergeant Josh Beal (Downeast Washington County) got his start with the Department in 2013. He spent many years patrolling the Houlton District, and St. Albans District, before transferring to the Union District in 2021. Sergeant Beal has served as Cadre of the Advanced Warden School, Basic Law Enforcement Training Program Mentor, and Operation Game Thief Liaison. He is also a Certified Drug Recognition Expert, Intoxilyzer Instructor, and Standardized Field Sobriety Test Instructor.
The most recent promotion is that of Game Warden Kyle Hladik of the Sebago Lake Region. Following his Marine Corps career, he was the Maine Criminal Justice Academy class president and class valedictorian in 2014. Since then, he has been involved in the Warden Training Officer Program, Color Guard, Dive Team, Warden Service Hiring Process, Incident Management Team, and Warden Service Association. Sergeant Hladik is the 2022 Lead Cadre of the Advanced Warden School and continues his service with the Maine Air National Guard.
