TITLE OF POSITION: Director of Residential Life

BARGAINING UNIT/SALARY RANGE:  MEA Administrators Unit, Level IV

RESPONSIBILITIES:  The Director of Residential Life serves as the chief housing administrator for the College. This position oversees and/or performs all administrative functions related to the functioning of the department while maintaining adherence to Federal, State, MCCS and College laws, regulations, policies and standard of good practice. Maintains positive working relationships with all local emergency responder agencies. The director serves on a wide variety of College committees and task forces. This position is responsible for the selection, training, and supervision of all residential life employees. 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:  Master’s Degree in educational administration, student development or related field. Minimum of three years of increasing supervisory experience preferably in residential life settings. 

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:  Must have the ability to make independent and critical decisions; Ability to organize and manage administrative functions of the Residential Life department; Plan coordinate and evaluate student based programming and activities; Ability to coordinate staff selection, training, and supervision; Coordinate and plan facilities management, budgeting, safety and security; Apply sound crisis management skills and decision making abilities; Excellent oral and written communication and computer skills.
